Holy Week & Easter 2026
Maundy (Holy) Thursday and Good Friday

Holy Week offers a time to remember Jesus’ ultimate act of pouring himself out for the world. We will observe a Maundy (Holy) Thursday service on Thursday, March 28, with a soup and bread supper at 5:30 and a service at 7 pm.

On Good Friday, March 29, join us at 7 pm for a Cantata– a dramatic choral experience for Good Friday. “We Were There” with words and music by Pepper Choplin is presented by members and friends of UCCM. Inspired by the spiritual “Were You There”, this musical experience is based on several monologues depicting those who were on the scene at the cross of Calvary. The work leads through many emotions: from the Holy Love shown to Mary Magdalene, to the intimacy of Mother Mary, to the regret of Peter. It will provide people with a powerful experience for Holy Week

Easter Sunday

Our Easter Sunday celebration is at 10 a.m in the sanctuary. We will have special activities for children, and special music fo rthe season.

Come celebrate the joy of new life together!

Advent and Christmas 2025

In 1865, William Chatterton Dix penned a poem that would become the beloved Christmas-time favorite, “What Child Is This?” This year, we dive into this question that is much more complicated than the lilting lullaby tune, “Greensleeves,” conveys. We will see the story of the time leading up to the birth of Christ in its historical trauma-informed fullness. The story of humanity and its recurring themes of oppression and corruption run right through history and into our own narratives. Yet, we can rely on the assurance of the carol to confirm that God is “present with us” in powerful ways that continue to be the Word of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love even and especially in the midst of hard times.
